To block someone on LinkedIn, you need to head over to the person’s profile, click on “More,” select “Report / Block” and confirm your action.

To block someone on LinkedIn, the first step is to head over to www.linkedin.com or launch your LinkedIn mobile application – depending on the device you’re using. Make sure that you’re logged in to your account.

Next, from the LinkedIn home screen, type in the person’s person you’d like to block in the Search Bar and head over to their profile.

Let’s say I’d like to block my dear friend “Ashish.” What I’ll do is head over to his profile.

The next step is to click on “More” as you can see in the screenshots. Now, you’ll see different options like:

  • Share profile in a message
  • Save to PDF
  • Give Kudos
  • Request a Recommendation
  • Recommend
  • Unfollow (If you’re following the person)
  • Remove Connection (If you’re an active connection)
  • Report / Block

Click on “Report / Block.”

How to Block Someone on LinkedIn

As you click on “Report / Block,” a “Report” pop-up will open with the following options:

  • Report content on profile
  • Report post, comment, or message
  • Get help for {Name of the Person}
  • Block {Name of the Person}

Click on “Block {Name of the Person}.”

When you click on it, LinkedIn will ask for confirmation. Select “Block” to confirm your action.

And that’s how you can block someone on LinkedIn.

The steps are almost similar for both Desktop and mobile.

But wait – what if you have blocked the person? Or what if you blocked someone earlier yet want to unblock them now?

How to Unblock Someone on LinkedIn

Unblocking someone on LinkedIn isn’t a straightforward process as blocking is. To unblock someone, you need to head over to LinkedIn “Settings & Privacy,” select “Visibility” and from there unblock the person.

How to Unblock Someone on LinkedIn

To unblock someone on LinkedIn, the first step is to head over to www.linkedin.com or launch the mobile application – depending on the device you’re using. Log in to your LinkedIn account. Now, to unblock someone that you blocked on LinkedIn, you need to head over to “Settings & Privacy.”

To do so, click on your profile picture and select “Settings & Privacy.”

Unblock the Person

Now, under “Visibility,” click on “Visibility of your profile & network.” On the right-hand side, you’ll see different options – of which you need to select the one at the very end, i.e., “Blocking.”

Next to “Blocking,” select “Change.”

Here you will see all the people you have blocked on LinkedIn. 

As you can see, I have blocked Ashish. Now, let’s unblock him.

Next to the person’s name, you’ll see the “Unblock” option.

Select “Unblock.”

Now, you need to add your LinkedIn password to unblock the person. 

NOTE – You can’t block this person again for the next 48 hours once you unblock him/her.

And that’s how you can unblock someone on LinkedIn.
