How to Turn Off Annoying In-App Sounds in the Facebook Mobile Application on an Android Device?

You can easily turn off in-app sounds in the Facebook mobile application on your Android device by following the steps I’ve mentioned:

Head Over to Facebook Settings on Android

Head Over to Facebook Settings and Select Media Option

Here, I’m assuming that you are using the normal Facebook application and not from the browser or the Lite version.

So, the first step is to launch your Facebook mobile application.

Make sure that you’re logged in to your account.

Now, if you’re logged in, on your Facebook home feed, you’ll be able to see the three-vertical lines just below the Messenger icon. Tap on it.

Upon clicking on the three vertical lines, you’ll be taken to the menu, where you can access different things like Pages, Marketplace, Friends, and more.

Just below the three vertical lines, you’ll see the Settings icon, which you need to click on. It’ll take you to the Facebook mobile application settings.

In the settings section, you can access your Facebook account’s settings – from account information to preferences to audience and visibility. You can literally access every possible setting you can imagine.

Now, under “Preferences,” you’ll see “Media” as the third-last option.

It’s below “Language and Region” and above “Your Time on Facebook.”

Click on “Media.”

Turn Off “Sounds in the app”

Finally, when you click on “Media,” you’ll be taken to the media settings, where you can change settings related to Video Quality, Autoplay, Video, and phone settings.

Under “Video and photo settings,” there are three options:

  • Reduce 3D photo motion
  • Sounds in the app
  • Links open externally

If you are annoyed by the sound, the “Sounds in the app” setting has been turned on.

You need to toggle it off to turn off the sound.

And you’re done.

Now, you won’t hear the annoying sound every time you like a Facebook post or perform some kind of activity.
