As you may already know, the internet is flooded with acronyms like TTYL, LOL, LMAO, and many more. Not only are these common slangs used on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, but people use them while talking with each other in real-life.

Alongside these common slangs, some other slangs people have been using on Instagram include NFS, CFS, SMT, FS, and many more.

Imagine one of your friends using these slangs and you not being able to figure out the exact meaning. And of course, you wouldn’t want to sound dumb, would you?

To help you familiarize yourself with these terms, I’ve put together these blog posts where I’ll be explaining what some common abbreviations like NFS, CFS, SMT, FS, and many more mean on Instagram.

Throughout this blog post, we’ll be covering:

Without further ado, let’s dive into their actual meaning straight away.

What Does NFS Mean on Instagram?

NFS, which stands for Not for Sale, is one of the most popular and commonly used slangs on Instagram with different meanings. For instance, business profiles on Instagram advertising their products and at the same time using the term “NFS” means that the item they are showing off isn’t for sale. Maybe of all the products they are selling, certain products may not be for sale – which is they used the term “NFS.”

Another variation of this slang is “No Funny Shit.” If someone uses the slang “NFS” while talking with you on Instagram or in your comments section, then they probably are telling you to stop joking around. Or they are just tired of the conversation.

What Does CFS Mean on Instagram?

These days, Instagram allows you to choose whether you want to show your Instagram story in front of everybody on your followers list or your close friends.

CFS on Instagram refers to “Close Friends Story.” This means, if one of your friends asks you – “Can you please add me to your CFS on Instagram?” then they probably want to be added to your Close Friends Story list.

What Does SMT Mean on Instagram?

SMT stands for “Sucking My Teeth” on Instagram. When someone wants to express frustration on Instagram, then they can use the slang. At the same time, it may also mean “Send Me This.” When one of your friends wants to ask you to send something to him/her, then he/she will probably send you a message like “Hey! SMT” along with the picture.

The context of the conversation may be different.

What Does FS Mean on Instagram?

FS, on Instagram, stands for “For Sure.” Let’s say you ask one of your colleagues “Hey buddy! Can you do me a quick favor – can you please fill in for me tomorrow?” And if he/she replies to you with – “FS” on Instagram or any other platform, then it means For Sure.

FS is used to express confidence in someone or something. Or it’s just a way of saying yes to people.
